Background

I am a sleep neurologist and physician-scientist.  My research focuses on the relationships between sleep, aging, and Alzheimer’s disease.  In support my research, I have received funding from the NIH and the BrightFocus Foundation.  I was also awarded a K76 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging.  In addition, I am also interested in other proteins, hormones, and metabolites that are affected by the sleep-wake cycle, such as plasma and CSF cortisol, glucose, lactate, and inflammatory factors.
